Stalin was a strong and capable man. He was a devote man in the teachings of Marxism and grew rather fond of it. He was born in a poor place and didn’t have much. But he soon started getting himself involved in the inner workings of the Socialist Party and the Bolsheviks. He attended secret meetings, helped create pamphlets and he even organized strikes around the city. He admired Lenin and his many works. Then later he became the Commissar for Nationalities and he begun his work as one of the advisors of the Bolsheviks.

The fight for power

This changed when Lenin had died, there were two main contenders for power of the Bolsheviks and they were Stalin and Trotsky. Trotsky was known to be the one who will take his role as the leader of the Communists and he seemed to be the perfect person for this role. But he was arrogant and was disturbing. Even people in his own group found him violent and annoying. But Stalin was the opposite Trotsky he wasn’t intelligent but he had power over the people and he was cunning at politics. They were head on with one another and they were trying to win the throne.

Winner

The way that Stalin won was that he ended up tricking a lot of people and gained support. He spread lies about Trotsky and the other people with him about him wanting to be a dictator. Then he was exiled out of the country and soon later died leaving the throne to Stalin which led him to completely change what Russia was.
